Detail: The Plasticflex patent 2,256,645 was filed March 28, 1941 to Florence Kuhlman for Robert Appel, New York, NY. It covers an innovative weaving method used to assemble material comprised of interfitted rigid units...by pliable means interlace with said units whereby an articulate, decorative and ornamental surface is obtained. This is an early example of the now collectable vintage plastic square clutch bag. Fully lined with one small internal pocket. This two-tone colour is considered rare!. The zip pully is made up of four spare square tiles.
