Product Details

Detail: Junya Watanabe collection 2002. Deconstructed black tailored jacket with sculpted peplum. The construction is seriously complex. Watanabe has taken the classic vintage Dior new-look silhouette and completely reinterpreted it. The jacket consists of two fabric layers; the outer layer has been intricately torn away, cut out, tucked and twisted in various places to create an extraordinary sculptural piece. Unfinished hem, raw edging and fraying enhance the deconstructed interpretation. The peplum is held firmly in place with four layered internal rigid seams. Two button fastening. This is definitely one of tomorrow's key collectable pieces, by Junya Watanabe for Comme des Garcons.
