1950s: Femininity and grace were now predominant in the post-war fashion aesthetic. The glamour of Hollywood also had a profound effect on 50s styling which embraced elegant and sophisticated lines to emphasis sex appeal. The introduction of new and easy-care fabrics encourage fashion innovation that lead to the box cut and semi fitted 'sack' shapes that started to surface at the end of the decade.
