Detail: Rare vintage Comme des Garcons double layered suspender skirt in black wool suiting fabric from the CDG 1990 AW collection. See collection film reference. Ingenious construction. A singular full length fabric tube folds back on itself, creating two layers. The first with semi-high waistline, and the second waistline sitting around the upper hipline when suspenders are worn at full length. The suspenders are worn as a halter-neck but can also be worn as a sash. The suspenders are permanently attached.The first attached to the upper waist level, the second attached to the lower waist level. The construction is intricate, complex and wonderfully innovative. First layer is fully lined.
