Detail: Stunning cream vintage coat in chenille and mohair by Julius Garfinkle & Co. Classic mid 1950s swagger style with huge volume. Pockets to sides. Beautiful misty semi transparent lucite buttons and three quarter length sleeves. Fully lined in champagne silk. Coats of this quality are sadly no longer made today!

Sizing: UK10-14. Shoulders seam to seam 16.5 inches. Sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff 18.5 inches. Length 45 inches. Bust, waist & hips will work to a UK10-14 with ease

1950s: Femininity and grace were now predominant in the post-war fashion aesthetic. The glamour of Hollywood also had a profound effect on 50s styling which embraced elegant and sophisticated lines to emphasis sex appeal. (comment on print design that was driven more by product and interior design) The introduction of new and easy-care fabrics encourage fashion innovation that lead to the box cut and semi fitted 'sack' shapes that started to surface at the end of the decade.
