Detail: Absolutely stunning leather (harem style) trousers by Issey Miyake. A wonderful example of his early work when first introduced into the UK. Four panels of thick buttery lambs leather have been used to construct these pants. Fully lined in chocolate satin and pockets to hips. Closure via zip and single button to front. Ribbed waist-band allows for a perfect fit with a little stretch. Perhaps the most striking detail, is the use of leather strips integrated to the lower waist and ankle. Both trims allow for ajustment if required. Outstanding quality.

Japanese fashion, since the early 1980s, has made an enormous impact on the way we look at and ultimately wear our clothes; most notably, three key designers (Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto) have collectively pioneered this aesthetic, and redefined the very basis of fashion. Underlined by an interest in reshaping, reforming, reconstructing and deconstructing, Japanese fashion is inherently deep-rooted in its own cultural tradition but also tied into popular culture.
